A natural cannabinoid explained
At GreenWeed.dk, we work with natural and plant-based cannabis products that comply with Danish legislation. One of the most interesting substances in our range is THCA – but what is it, and why is it relevant?
What is THCA?
THCA stands for TetraHydroCannabinolic Acid. It is a natural cannabinoid found in raw cannabis before the plant is exposed to heat.
In nature, THCA occurs as part of the plant's growth and serves as a precursor to THC. Only when THCA is heated does a process called decarboxylation occur, converting THCA to the more well-known substance THC.
Is THCA legal in Denmark?
Yes. In its unheated form, THCA is legal in Denmark, as long as it has not been converted to THC. Therefore, it may not be marketed for consumption, but may be sold as collectibles, fragrance products, or for decorative purposes.
At GreenWeed, we comply with all regulations and only sell products that are 100% natural, without synthetic cannabinoids or illegal substances.
Why do many choose THCA?
More and more people are choosing THCA products due to:
- The desire for legal cannabis alternatives
- Interest in aroma, aesthetics, and natural terpenes
- Increasing curiosity about cannabinoids
- A desire to support clean and honest plant-based production
